In 1986, Monica Lorey and Gloria Viramontes opened the doors to Westend Hair Company. 22 years, one fire, and a move later, Westend is growing stronger and providing clients with the ultimate experience in a clean, relaxing, chic and friendly environment.

Westend has provided the latest in hair design and treatments, exclusively featuring AVEDA skin and hair products. In May 2007, they expanded their services to include body treatments and massage therapy, along with skin care and body waxing. Westend has been named one of Salon Today magazine's top 200 Fastest Growing Salons in the country in 2006, 2007, and 2008, as well as being featured in Salon Today's Décor issue in 2008. In 2007 and 2008, the Global Salon Business Awards nominated Westend Hair Company and advanced to the Semi-Finalist stage.

Staff continues to stay ahead of the trends, in business and style by attending numerous seminars, conferences and educational classes throughout the year to bring the most up-to-date styles and practices to their clients in El Paso.

Monica and Gloria continue to give back to the community by being involved as board members of AVANCE and Keep El Paso Beautiful and belonging to such organizations as YWCA, Junior League of El Paso, and El Paso Women's ACTS.
